Life insurance for veterans and families
Start with the people who depend on you, then understand how your current coverage fits.
A benefit with a purpose
Life insurance can help a beneficiary handle the financial effects of a death. Your purpose might be income for a spouse, help for children, debts, or final expenses. Naming that purpose makes the conversation more useful than starting with a policy name.
Term and permanent coverage
Term insurance covers a defined period. Permanent life insurance is designed for longer-lasting protection, provided the policy stays in force. Premiums, guarantees, cash value, and ongoing requirements vary. A policy you can comfortably maintain matters more than a large amount you may later need to drop.
Start with your existing policies
Bring the coverage amount, premium, beneficiary information, and any renewal or expiration details for each policy. Employer coverage may change when employment ends. Military and VA programs have their own eligibility and continuation rules. Do not cancel an existing policy before understanding the consequences and confirming any replacement.
Your next step
Write down what your family would need help paying for and what resources would be available. Then review cost, benefit timing, exclusions, and available options with Xander.
